    • Do I need special insurance?

You need your basic SGI plate insurance. When you are logged in and on a trip, Spinr provides a blanket commercial liability policy (usually $1M or $2M coverage) that covers you and the passenger.
    • Do I need to tell SGI I am a rideshare driver?

Yes. Once approved, SGI requires a "Rideshare Indicator" on your vehicle registration. Spinr will often notify SGI of your affiliation, but you should confirm your registration status allows for "Vehicle for Hire" use.
    • Do I need a Spinr decal/sticker?

Yes. Local bylaws in Regina and Saskatoon require you to display the Spinr "trade dress" (logo) on your front and/or rear windshield while online. We will mail this to you after approval.
    • Can I use a rental car?

Only if your name is on the insurance and the rental agency explicitly authorizes "Commercial/Rideshare" use. Most standard rentals (Hertz/Enterprise) do not allow this.
    • Do I need a special "Commercial" or "Class 4" license?

No. In Saskatchewan, rideshare drivers can operate with a standard Class 5 license, provided you are not a "Novice" driver. However, we encourage drivers to upgrade to Class 4 for additional professional benefits, but it is not mandatory to start.
